Social media is in everyone’s lives these days and has presented several opportunities for people who otherwise might not know about them. So, I wanted to know how social media has affected guests at Dallas Comic-Con. First up I spoke to the talented Mr. Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre).
AFC: How has social [...]

The biggest surprise at ActionFest 2011 was a little film called A Lonely Place to Die. This not-yet-released film bagged two awards during its world premier at ActionFest, Best Film and Best Director- Julian Gilbey. I agree 100% with that outcome, maybe because I was one of the jurors making the decision.

Judgment Day recently came and went (see Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, not Harold Camping’s Family Radio Rapture claim) without an obvious attack by Skynet. MythBuster Grant Imahara, who has made us a few promises regarding preparations for the machine uprising, hosts the Science Channel’s combat robot series Killer Robots starting Monday, Memorial Day. Coincidence? [...]

Dallas Comic-Con had its best year yet this year with a new, bigger location and huge celebrity guests. Leonard Nimoy, Carrie Fisher, and Stan Lee were among the many guests. I was lucky enough to attend one of Stan’s panels, and this one was moderated by John Romita, Jr.! I have to say, the world [...]

For her first SFX Magazine column, Bonnie Burton looked at how cosplay at fan conventions differs for women, and somehow discussion with her three interviews kept whirling through one big question:

This film looks like the same ol’ same ol’ romantic comedy crap that this chick always makes sure to avoid watching, let alone posting about. But hey, maybe this won’t suck. The trailer doesn’t look half bad….

Edna Ferber’s novel comes to life in the film Giant, starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. Elizabeth Taylor embodied the beautiful high-spirited woman who could handle her own business. It didn’t mean that she didn’t need or want love, but she didn’t need a man to tell her what to do. She was her own woman. A GIANT of a woman!
